Lauren Lee Smith is the author of short stories, poetry, and novels that confront the darker, more taboo elements of the feminine experience, both in modern and historical fiction settings. A mother of three young children, her work often explores maternal mental health, trauma, and identity through the lens of feminist horror. Born in a tiny gold rush town in Northern California, Lauren is currently querying her debut historical horror novel told from the perspective of a diverse cast of women in 1850s California. When not writing, Lauren works in contemporary art sales and art content writing in Southern California.
